ABOUT THIS RECIPE

This low-fat turkey and spinach recipe is a delicious and healthy meal option for dogs. It is packed with lean protein from turkey and nutrient-rich spinach, making it a great choice for dogs who need to watch their weight. This recipe is easy to make and can be customized to suit your dog's taste preferences. Plus, it's a great way to ensure your furry friend is getting all the essential nutrients they need to stay healthy and happy.

There’s no one set amount that we can say to feed your dog as each dog is different in breed, age, activity levels, these all affect how many calories your dog needs to eat daily. Here is a rough guideline below. The key points to look at are portion control, exercise, being careful about treats as some are high in calories, incorporating a slow feeder so it take them longer to eat, and sometimes rather than 2 meals a day, smaller portions fed throughout the day can help.

But we do recommend check with your vet before changing your dog’s diet and about the best way for your dog to loose weight.

  • Extra-small dogs (5 to 10 pounds) – 160-200 daily calories
  • Small-medium dogs (10 to 30 pounds) – 320-480 daily calories
  • Medium-large dogs (30 to 50 pounds) – 640-800 daily calories
  • Large dogs (50 to 70 pounds) – 960-1120 daily calories
